For the past few days, it has been making a nest from fallen leaves. I'm not sure if you have ever seen a bush turkey's nest, it's basically a big pile of "stuff" that I assume the eggs are laid somewhere in it.
This creature has worked relentlessly for days, scratching the dead leaves across the driveway to the other side where it's building it's nest.
When I say relentlessly, it's been at it from first signs of daylight to dark.
Watching it go about it's work got me thinking about what I have to learn from watching. I think the main message is to keep going to reach that goal, no matter what obstacles are put in your way. (This poor thing has worked away in the freezing rain and wind over the last few days).
Recruitment at the moment is hard, relentless business development for not much gain, more aggressive competition and lots more hard slog to get placements over the line than at any time post GFC.
KEEP AT IT! Keep scratching those leaves into a little pile and then moving them a little bit until you build your nest that's nice and safe and warm. Keep doing what needs to be done......don't lose focus on the goal (or nest). Keep moving forward. Above all know that this time will pass and come spring, you will be rewarded for all that hard work - just like the bush turkey will!
